The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community had some lofty ambitions there too. Valleyfair – Minnesota’s biggest and best amusement park – was the entertainment capital of the state. At the time that area was best known for being home to Valleyfair. Paul metroplex, between Prior Lake and Shakopee. That course, Lone Pine, was located in the southeast corner of the Minneapolis-St. They did it because they wanted to redesign that design into one of the best golf courses, not only in the Twin Cities, but in all of Minnesota. When the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community purchased a course called Lone Pine in 2002, they didn’t do so just to own a golf course.
